Meet the Principal

Principal Lindsay Alsup

I am excited and beyond thankful to serve as your interim principal. It is an honor to support our students, staff, and community in this role, and I look forward to the journey ahead.

A little about me:

I graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and Education. I then earned my master’s degree in Special Education. Next, I will enroll at the University of Oregon to complete their Principal Licensure Program. My career began with 13 fulfilling years creating and leading several K-5 self-contained special education programs, focusing on life skills for students with a variety of abilities and disabilities and some programs specifically supporting children on the autism spectrum.

In 2019, my family and I moved to Scio for my husband’s business opportunity, and it quickly became home. We have two sons who also have attended Centennial Elementary since Kindergarten.  Little did I know how much I would enjoy transitioning into teaching kindergarten at our wonderful elementary school in 2021. In September of the 2024-25 school year I began my 19th year in education as the Behavior Support Specialist—a role I truly loved. A couple months later, when the opportunity arose to become the interim principal, I felt energized and ready for this next chapter in my career.

I am passionate about fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment where every student can thrive. I love our school and community, and I am excited to continue working together to build a bright future for our students.

Thank you for your trust and support as we navigate this year together. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m always here to connect and collaborate with you.
